Our April meeting was well attended.
It was our A G M. And after a formal meeting we all enjoyed Cheese and biscuits and a really interesting talk and demonstration by Jackie Stevens On the Bowen technique. A non invasive very gentle alternative therapy, Jackie got two of our members to volunteer for a brief treatment and they and the rest of us were astounded at how much better they felt afterwards.
We discussed the need to attract new members to join us and boost our funds and decided to start a web site; hoping it will help. Jean Blasdell offered the services of her husband Allen, to set it up and run it for a year to see how it works out. You can find us at..
There is a gallery of members work to view, details of meetings and speakers and hopefully interested people will be able to message us and get advice on Sugar Craft and related topics that they would like to discuss.
We think this is quite an exciting new step for us bringing us in to the 21st century.
Our speaker for the may meeting was Fay Barrett.
Showing us how to make the best use of an air brush, An expensive piece of equipment but very versatile . Our thanks to Fay for making a long trip to visit us
We plan to put on a display in the church in June as part of The Queen’s birthday celebrations.
We are looking forwards to welcoming the team from the ‘Outrageous Cake Company‘ to our June meeting for their first visit, showing us how to make the best use of ‘bas relief’ techniques on our cakes and decorations. We’re delighted for this opportunity to watch a new demonstrator.
